A native Texan, Dr. Hickey was born and raised in Friendswood. He graduated with a BS in Bioinformatics from Baylor University before going on to the University of Texas in Houston for his MD. He completed his Internal Medicine residency through Cornell at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He went on to complete two fellowships in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at the University of Oklahoma.
Dr. Hickey is also recognized as the developer of two iPhone applications designed to assist cardiologists in determining the appropriateness of procedures, testing, and interventions for their patients. iCath and iImplant have gone on to become two of the most recognized cardiovascular mobile applications in the world.
His areas of expertise include preventative cardiology, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, sports and exercise cardiology, carotid artery disease, and advanced cholesterol management.
Dr. Hickey is board certified in cardiovascular diseases, interventional cardiology, and internal medicine. He currently lives in Tomball with his wife and three children, where he is able to focus most of his care at our Champions office location. Outside of the office, Dr. Hickey is an avid hunter, fisherman, and competitive shooter.
